5 Questions With Tully from TJB Hair Artistry

Tully from TJB Hair Artistry shares her experience in running a local business and how she spends her spare time in the Gympie area.

What’s a hidden gem in the area you think more locals should know about?

I love going for a run along the foreshore at Tin Can Bay or having a sauna at our new wellness centre, Revive! I’m also a massive foodie, my recommendations are: pastries at Little H, Khao Soi/Pad See Ew at Mee Kin, coffee at Swing By, and you must try the salted chocolate chip cookie at Coat’d!

Where would we most likely find you during your time off?

During my time off, you’ll find me camping at Inskip with my partner, having a long lunch with friends, or watching the sunset on the hill in my backyard!

What’s been the highlight of starting your own business?

The highlight of starting TJB has been creating full-time work for myself, which I’m really proud of! As well as the relationships I’ve built with my clients – I truly adore them. I’ve been trading for three years in February, which is wild!

What’s something you’ve learnt about yourself since starting your own business?

Something I have learnt about myself is how much I value work-life balance. I work a four-day work week, and really enjoy weekends away and quality time with my partner and friends!

Favourite thing about the Gympie community?

My favourite thing about the Gympie community is the way new clients have backed my business since I opened in 2024. Their trust in my work is the biggest compliment!
