5 Questions With Tiana Smith from Simple Systems Co
Tiana Smith from Simple Systems Co shares her experience in starting a business locally and what she loves most about the community she calls home.
What made you start this business locally?
I started Simple Systems Co because, as a woman myself, I’ve seen far too many women not pursue their ambitions because they don’t have the time or tech know-how to do so. I wanted to create a business that makes all of that simpler and less overwhelming so business owners can focus on what they do best.
What’s something people misunderstand about the work you do?
A lot of people think that websites are ‘set and forget’ or that the only goal is to make websites look ‘pretty’. In reality, a good website should actually support the business behind it – making sure to save time, improve customer experience and communicate the brand’s message in a way that truly resonates with their audience.
What’s your favourite hidden gem in the area?
Probably Swing By Coffee! I absolutely love how cozy it is in there and the beautiful rustic furniture. It has a real friendly aura about it!
What’s the toughest part of running a local business?
One of the toughest parts is wearing so many hats at once, and I think that’s something so many other businesses can relate to. Especially as a mum, there’s so much to do and such little time. The other would be getting your name out there in the local community. I’d so love to support more Gympie-based businesses!
What do you appreciate most about the Gympie community?
I really appreciate how much businesses here support each other. Coming from Brisbane, it warms my heart to see how much businesses here collaborate and lift each other up!
